 Wow, what a busy month I have had. We had a masquerade ball. We all got dressed up and had a blue drink and a muffin that we helped to make in our cooking session. We practiced waltzing in our music and dance sessions. We even had a real DJ 

Massage and wellbeing is a time that I get to talk about my week and what went well and what didn't and getting pampered. I usually choose a foot spa and hand massage because it makes me feel relaxed.

I always enjoy my sports sessions. This month is the football world cup and my team  I'm supporting is Senegal. We practiced our ball skills catching, kicking, and throwing.

I love to play pool. We have been going to the marble bar. I think I'm really good at the pool.

My gardening session is always exciting. I've helped shift some rhubarb,  I enjoy being outside when the weather is nice, sweeping paths, weed gardens and even helped grow some seedlings for the merivale community garden.

I always enjoy literacy and numeracy because I like learning to count numbers and color with numbers. 

Life skills are so fun we talk about all sorts. This month we have learnt about emotions. Happy, Sad, and even Mad. We learnt  what to do and how to deal with our emotions and also learnt that it's ok to feel happy, sad or even mad.

May update

Cooking and more cooking. I just love food. We have made mini cheese cakes, blueberry muffins and quiche and I liked eating it all. Connect 20 has been fun. I like catching up with my friends from the other centres and having lemonade. We have been allowed  to sit in the main area of the citizens club because they are renovating the club  and i can see the pool tables from there yipee I just love acting and role play. It's always fun and we always have a good laugh. We have acted out different animals, our favorite musician and also movie stars. We have traveled to different countries for our music sessions. My favorite countries to visit were the tropical countries because the clothes were bright and playful.  I was lucky enough to be invited to golf 360 with my friends from Arohanui and it was fantastic. I loved it and I was very good at hitting the ball. For role play we practiced the song STRUT YOUR STUFF and boy can we move. We also learnt the song SWEET CAROLINA. It was fun.

I had fun cooking crust less quiche and I squeezed oranges for a refreshing cold juice.TA

A special guest

Today we had a very special guest come to talk with us. Devon Briggs, the para-cyclist who is a world champion at cycling in the velodrome. He brought in his medals and bicycle and talked about his racing. EB

 We have been going all around the world for music and today we explored American music and artists. I really enjoyed Elvis Presley’s Hound Dog! - TR

Acting/roleplay

 

Today I had fun playing charades. We acted out different animals, everyday activities and famous musicians. I created my own genre where I was acting out a certain dance, it was the tango! - TR

Positive affirmations

Today we did positive affirmations about ourselves and went around the room. It was a nice way to spend time with my friends. - TR

Super fun afternoon at Ila Park with bubbles and music. I had fun with my friends.

Scottish music

 Today in our music session we listened to Scottish music and Scottish artists! I found the bag pipes to be interesting and found it had a very unique sound. I really enjoyed hitting the drum to the beat of the traditional Scottish music - TR

Meet the maker

 

Today I was lucky to watch Sarah and Kuda dance and sing for their meet the maker show. I enjoyed clapping and singing along! I also got to see all their accomplishments and art work. - TR

Had a great morning playing Bat down and than made special photos on AI of us playing our favourite sport. (Check last image)

Anzac day

  In acting and Roleplay we talked about Anzac Day. Dianne brought in cool army and navy uniforms that I had fun trying on. I really liked the army uniform and the cammo pants. We went outisde and practiced some marching and formation. D.H

Reading

I had fun at the library with my friends and I loved reading about marsupials and mammals! - TR

Bingo walk

 

Super fun walking bingo at the lakes playground this afternoon. I really enjoyed spotting all the things.

I had lots of fun throwing ball around the sensory room and sometimes hitting the cups if the table. It was a great way to start the morning

Today we swept and weeded. After that we planted silverbeet, spinach, spring onion and broccoli plants, then watered them. EB

We had some fun croquet challenges in sports this morning.
